Dear Mother Spirit and Michael, Merry Christmas! We are so happy to receive you--Mother Spirit--so close to our celebration of Michael’s birth as Jesus. I thought it might be fun and interesting to get your take on events, seeing how you and Michael have been so close for literally billions of years. Being the kind of spiritual beings you both are, you were able to share Michael’s human life almost as fully as he did himself. So if you would please, give us some of your impressions of what Jesus’ life was for you. Amen. Thank You.

Lesson

Nebadonia: Good evening, my children; this is your Mother Spirit. Yes, I would be happy to share some of my experiences of Michael’s life, for this was, and is the most fundamental reality of the person your world knew as Jesus of Nazareth.

I directly experienced the human incarnation of this Creator Son of God, for he and I have been together since we were both created in Paradise by the Trinity. Michael was created by God the Father and God the Son, and I was a direct creation by the Infinite Spirit--one of her many daughters. Keep in mind we arbitrarily assign sexual distinctions to the Father, the Son, and the Infinite Spirit, seeing that all three are actually antecedent--you might say--from such later bi-polar compliments.

(Michael’s human life was a supreme gift)

Very Importantly, having a human life was not only a requirement of God’s for Michael as a Creator Son, It was also a profound gift for him. This was after nearly four million evolutionary worlds like your own, on which both Michael and I have so intimately shared the life of literally trillions of human-type folks over those billions of years.

You might say there was nothing of human life we hadn’t experienced through all of our children, yet to actually have a personal human life was such a gift. To make that gift meaningful as only fully/ordinarily human—for a while, anyway--God suspended Michael’s own self-awareness and power of being a Creator Son during his early life as Jesus. This went on for almost thirty years, until the time of his baptism by his cousin John.

Yet as you look at his life, almost from the very beginning there were “hints.” As a youngster he liked to go out and roam around at night, and once, when his father Joseph asked him what he was doing, he simply said, “I was out talking with my Father.” The presence he felt was so warm and supportive, and Joseph being such a wonderful father, Jesus naturally identified it that way. It was a presence he would continue to feel throughout his human life.

One of his first major, and overt, spiritual events was when Joseph took him to Jerusalem to be formally admitted into the Jewish community . He had a visit from an angel made physically manifest to him, who informed him, “It is time to be about your Father’s work.” So here again as a very young man, he had not only a sense of his Father’s presence, but even of some spiritually allied work to do.

(Jesus loved and enjoyed the physical part of life)

Along with this spiritual side of Jesus, always remember he was enormously physical and hard-working right from being a youngster. Having the spiritual blessing of great curiosity, and a feeling for being alive, he wondered about all the folks around him. It was natural for him to be--at different times—on a farm, a shepherd, and of course--as a worker around the caravans from all over that part of the world—a carpenter and iron-worker. So if you would visualize Jesus as a young man, see this physically powerful person whose warm charm came from the fact that he refused to be, in any way, intimidating or overbearing.

It was a very physical world back then; and a very cruel world. The astonishing warmth of his presence, coupled with his genuine curiosity in the individual with whom he was spending some time, so augmented their own feeling of themselves to have this wonderfully interesting—and interested--person as a companion for a while.

(Jesus’ role and reward in being a surrogate father)

Another great event of his life was when he was only seventeen years old and Joseph was killed in a construction accident. At such a young age he became not only a companion and support of his mother Mary, but a father to his six younger brothers and sisters. Although this is not recorded in regular Christianity, this too became such a part of his character--having this responsibility for taking care of them, and the love reciprocated by his younger brothers and sisters. These fatherly relationships lasted all the way to interviewing his sister’s boyfriends and suitors. Before they got married they had to see Jesus.

This strong, wonderful man had great travelling adventures at a time when almost everybody without exception--unless they were in an armed force, or by way of business—lived their entire lives pretty much around home. Jesus took on a job being a tutor to the young sons of a very wealthy Indian merchant, that would take him around the Mediterranean as far as Rome. Then on his way back to Palestine, it would be through the Middle East--Antioch, Damascus--as the commander of a three-hundred person caravan, with that kind of ability and responsibility. He was just such a young man of enormous talent.

(The great temptation)

His growing spiritual awareness led to his arranged confrontation with the two closest malevolent spirits of your world and system: Caligastia--the evil Planetary Prince of your world, and Satan--the second in command under Lucifer, the head of your Local System of worlds. This was the Great Temptation of Jesus while he was still a fully human being and not, as tradition has it, after his baptism by John and his going off as a fully reconstituted Creator Son of God to spend some time alone. It actually happened before that. He was just a human being when he met with Caligastia and Satan and refused their offers of power.

This is why it is critical that the Urantia Book states that when Jesus went down into the Jordon River to be baptized by his cousin John, this was his last act as a purely human being. It’s so important to have a feeling for the enormously full and complete human life he had lived up to that moment. It emphasizes why a human life was not only a requirement of God’s, but a truly wonderful opportunity and gift; as is your own! Michael has told you what a thrill it was to have a human body and be able to wiggle his toes in the sand of a real world, with suddenly billions of years of experience behind him. Yet don’t think it was like waking from a dream, for his human life and his memories were real—both such an event he needed to go off by himself for a while.

(Michael’s freedom and ability to leave at any time)

But he was not by himself for long. Gabriel, our first Son and head of our Local Universe in Michael’s absence, Gabriel suddenly appeared and let Michael know that God’s final requirement for him--having a human life--was completely fulfilled at that moment. From that moment on Michael could give up his human life at any time and return to being the head of his Local Universe with the enhanced status of a Master Son wherein “All power of heaven and earth” would be his.

Now Jesus, so recently regaining being Michael, had great decisions to make. The very first was, “What do I do next” We all have this one—don’t we. Whether being a Creator Daughter of Paradise--or a human being--with what freedom and autonomy we are given--and have developed: “What do I do next?”

Your Urantia Book wonderfully details Michael’s first decision, which was—now he had a genuine choice—to continue his human life. He recalled what his Paradise brother had enjoined him to do during his human life, to help correct the results of the Lucifer Rebellion, and they were still to do. But How? With his new-found power of a Creator Son on earth, he could return to Jerusalem, climb to the top of the temple, walk out on the air, and proclaim.

(Jesus’ self-imposed limitations)

But his lifetime character as Jesus came through, and he decided not to do what would simply overawe, intimidate, and compel people to do what he commanded. He would limit himself to purely human means of persuasion. It became a supreme irony that the first genuine miracle he performed—changing water into wine—happened inadvertently and surprised him as much as anyone else. But it did caution him of the power he now had, and would have for the rest of his life.

His third great decision was that in all the choices he would have to make, he would always seek to know, and abide by his Father’s—God’s will. He stayed true through a final decision some years later, to go back to Jerusalem where for years there had been a sentence of death on his head. Only in consultation with his Father did he make that very fateful decision.

So I encourage everyone to enjoy the wonderful gift from our whole spiritual community--the Urantia Book with its dozens of extra-human authors. It gives you such a full feeling for this unique human being--Jesus, Michael--Creator Son of Paradise, my dear friend and Co-creator of Nebadon, our Local Universe.

This is our wish--Michael’s and mine--for a Merry Christmas. The birth of Jesus was a unique world event, and you are blessed in your generation to have the Urantia Book with such enormous detail of the day-to-day life of Jesus: who was there, what was done, and what was said--800 pages in modern language. Explore what it is to be a Creator Son and Creator Daughter of God, equal heads of a Local Universe of hundreds of billions of years developing out here in the galaxy; and one of seven hundred thousand in the universe. Imagine the kind of companionship and understanding of God’s ways we get to know. It’s yours too, in prospect.

It is a merry time indeed, awash and overflowing with creativity throughout all of God’s creation. And so we say, Thank you. Thank you, God. Thank you, dear Father, that we are! Thank you for me—that I am! I have my life, surrounded by all these others. Thank you for all of us. Amen.

Student #1: Mother, while Michael was going through his life as Jesus, what was your relationship to him?

(Michael and Nebadonia—hundreds of billions of years together)

Nebadonia: My dear, it’s so hard to express what it is to be a Creator Son and Daughter of Paradise over so many hundreds of billions of years. One thing I failed to mention is that Michael’s human life was the seventh incarnation in a descending order of spiritual beings. He had previous experiences of being—for example--an emergency Melchizedek and living for a while as that kind of being. The main difference from his human life was that he was before fully aware and self-conscious of who and what he was. But these six were in secret to everyone else. It wasn’t until later that folks would figure out this amazing Melchizedek must have been Michael.

In contrast, his human life was broadcast by Universal Reflectivity throughout our Local Universe. Michael had, in his purely human early life, no awareness that everything he was doing was being shared by trillions of others. Just for myself, everything he felt, I felt. Everything he saw I saw.

(Mother Spirit in all our lives)

I can do as much with you, my son, as you invite me to share your life. Don’t forget I am the very space in which you live, and mentally/spiritually I am literally part of you. It is great fun to be the Mother Spirit of a Local Universe.

Nebadonia: My dear, Michael and I are so instantaneous that patience is not required. There is not even the slightest iota of separation between us.. We are living right along with you. We really appreciate God’s gift of your unique personality, and all you are doing with it in your life.

Nebadonia: Don’t forget, my son, the trillions of humans who once lived on worlds like yours, and now are continuing on, not only working up through our Local Universe, but on--out into the galaxy, and then into the Super Universes. They come back to visit from time-to-time. Theirs is also your potential.

Nebadonia: You are just beginning, yet living is full every moment, always one hundred percent to your soul.

Student #2: Mother Spirit, I have always wanted to know how you are in us, and who you are. Where you reside in the universe? I know you’ve told me before, but I somehow don’t get it.

Nebadonia: Yes, my dear. I’m not exactly physical, but I do have a primary presence on Salvington, the enormous architectural sphere that is the headquarters of the Local Universe that my spiritual awareness extends throughout. I am pure spirit, and while I have a central focus of being on Salvington, and I can make myself visible even to the human beings who have worked their way up through the Mansion Worlds and achieved Salvington.

(You are not even now ultimately bound by space and time)

While both Michael and I could make ourselves present to you now, being a Creator Daughter of Paradise, I would be to your order of being only pure energy. But you are such a spiritual being yourself, my daughter, and your mentality is so much more than just your brain activity, you can, and do, pick me up. Don’t forget my, dear, your personality is not ultimately bound by space and time in this physical body of yours. As long as you are in our Local Universe your mind and spirit are being augmented by me.

I am really part of you in this sense, part of your creative spirit. This is why I recommend reading that wonderful chapter in your Urantia Book titled Personality Survival. It is one of the best descriptions of not only who, but what you are on your world right now.

(You are a personal spiritual being)

You are a spiritual being, and so you can be as sensitive of me as I am of you. You are literally using me all the time. You receive me; I influence you; and, of course, your life delights me. For myself, I am surrounded by the other Mother Spirits of their Local Universes that impinge upon mine in our galaxy. We are all pure spiritual beings whose minds and spirit presences literally define tour Local Universes.

Student #2: I think I get it better. It is a lot.

Nebadonia: Open your Urantia Book and look up my Mind/Spirit Adjutants that you use and enjoy—like growing knowledge and developing understanding, using courage and the ability of counsel to share your life with others. I encourage your worship and appreciation of being alive, and help you grow your wisdom.

Student #3: Mother Spirit? What do you feel about the idea of having Jesus be born in our hearts anew every Christmas?

Nebadonia: Oh, my dear!--you might say that is the main purpose for having such a celebration and remembrance. It helps you get a feeling for the essence of this person who lived among you, and what he taught. It is why—again--your Urantia Book with its eight hundred pages of the most amazing details, tells you day-by-day and sometimes even hour-by-hour, who was there, what was done, and why.

Tonight I tried to give you some sense of who he was before his baptism, when he began his public teaching. These later years are mostly what your traditions tell of Jesus’ life. He devoted his early life to experiencing the fullest extent of what a human life has to offer. It’s why I mentioned tonight the physical world he loved and knew so well. Even later, when he needed to take a break from his teaching, he would go back to making his beloved boats--shaving those planks to fit against each other and be water-tight. Then he would go out and to do some fishing.

(Sitting around a campfire with Jesus—just visiting)

After the crucifixion, when his apostles returned to him, they found he had built a familiar fire on the shore of Galilee. It was here, sitting around and talking over old times, those who went on to have terrible lives afterwards, some being tortured to death, remembered and held so dear sitting around the fire with Jesus, just visiting.

It was the kind of friend he was, and still is. So yes, my dear, anything that gives you a deeper feeling and appreciation for the life he lived, and what he did--fires up the spark in your heart to a warm glow.

Michael and I both serve as a conduit--if you will--to our mutual Father. Always keep in mind, my dear ones, that God has a presence right within you. He too is a part of you, part of your life. He too can be contacted with your next prayer, your next worship. Realize the most precious idea you may need so desperately--in one of your life situations where you truly don’t know what to do next, he can give you. They are the most precious gifts of all--ideas to help you keep living, keep embracing life, keep growing your soul. These ideas come right from him, right within you.

I am pure spirit, and while I have a central focus of being on Salvington, and I can make myself visible even to the human beings who have worked their way up through the Mansion Worlds and achieved Salvington.

(You are not even now ultimately bound by space and time)

While both Michael and I could make ourselves present to you now, being a Creator Daughter of Paradise, I would be to your order of being only pure energy. But you are such a spiritual being yourself, my daughter, and your mentality is so much more than just your brain activity, you can, and do, pick me up. Don’t forget my, dear, your personality is not ultimately bound by space and time in this physical body of yours. As long as you are in our Local Universe your mind and spirit are being augmented by me.

I am really part of you in this sense, part of your creative spirit. This is why I recommend reading that wonderful chapter in your Urantia Book titled Personality Survival. It is one of the best descriptions of not only who, but what you are on your world right now.

(You are a personal spiritual being)

You are a spiritual being, and so you can be as sensitive of me as I am of you. You are literally using me all the time. You receive me; I influence you; and, of course, your life delights me. For myself, I am surrounded by the other Mother Spirits of their Local Universes that impinge upon mine in our galaxy. We are all pure spiritual beings whose minds and spirit presences literally define tour Local Universes.

Nebadonia: Open your Urantia Book and look up my Mind/Spirit Adjutants that you use and enjoy—like growing knowledge and developing understanding, using courage and the ability of counsel to share your life with others. I encourage your worship and appreciation of being alive, and help you grow your wisdom.

Student #3: Mother Spirit? What do you feel about the idea of having Jesus be born in our hearts anew every Christmas?

Nebadonia: Oh, my dear!--you might say that is the main purpose for having such a celebration and remembrance. It helps you get a feeling for the essence of this person who lived among you, and what he taught. It is why—again--your Urantia Book with its eight hundred pages of the most amazing details, tells you day-by-day and sometimes even hour-by-hour, who was there, what was done, and why.

Tonight I tried to give you some sense of who he was before his baptism, when he began his public teaching. These later years are mostly what your traditions tell of Jesus’ life. He devoted his early life to experiencing the fullest extent of what a human life has to offer. It’s why I mentioned tonight the physical world he loved and knew so well. Even later, when he needed to take a break from his teaching, he would go back to making his beloved boats--shaving those planks to fit against each other and be water-tight. Then he would go out and to do some fishing.

(Sitting around a campfire with Jesus—just visiting)

After the crucifixion, when his apostles returned to him, they found he had built a familiar fire on the shore of Galilee. It was here, sitting around and talking over old times, those who went on to have terrible lives afterwards, some being tortured to death, remembered and held so dear sitting around the fire with Jesus, just visiting.

It was the kind of friend he was, and still is. So yes, my dear, anything that gives you a deeper feeling and appreciation for the life he lived, and what he did--fires up the spark in your heart to a warm glow.

Nebadonia: Well, my dears, Merry Christmas!--and a very fond farewell for a while. We will get together again, and again. I am as near as your next thought, your next worship, and your next prayer. Michael and I both serve as a conduit--if you will--to our mutual Father. Always keep in mind, my dear ones, that God has a presence right within you. He too is a part of you, part of your life. He too can be contacted with your next prayer, your next worship. Realize the most precious idea you may need so desperately--in one of your life situations where you truly don’t know what to do next, he can give you. They are the most precious gifts of all--ideas to help you keep living, keep embracing life, keep growing your soul. These ideas come right from him, right within you.
