Thought Adjuster: “The Spirit of Truth bestowed a great variety of potential and real blessings upon mankind. Let Me explain by comparing it to a beautifully wrapped gift. A gift is a gift even if it remains unopened as it is the giver’s underlying intention that makes it so.
However, it is worthless if the recipient sets it aside unopened. He will never grasp how much thoughtfulness was invested in its selection to hit a soft spot in his heart.
“The coming of the Spirit of Truth purifies the human heart and leads the recipient to formulate a life purpose single to the will of God and the welfare of men.” (UB, 194:3.19) How foolish and inconsiderate it is to denigrate such a benevolent and catalyzing influence meant to boost the expression of your authentic self and burst open your heart! Your resistance deprives you of the personal benefits of such an amazing gift: “The joy of this outpoured spirit, when it is consciously experienced in human life, is a tonic for health, a stimulus for mind, and an unfailing energy for the soul” (UB, 194:3.19) Who in his right mind would turn down such a precious gift?
Did I convince you? If not, here are a few more revelatory facts:
- “This bestowal of the Son’s spirit effectively prepared all normal men’s minds for the subsequent universal bestowal of the Father’s spirit (the Adjuster) upon all mankind. In a certain sense, this Spirit of Truth is the spirit of both the Universal Father and the Creator Son.” (UB, 194:2.3)
- “The Spirit of Truth came to help the believer to witness to the realities of Jesus’ teachings and his life as he lived it in the flesh, and as he now again lives it anew and afresh in the individual believer of each passing generation of the spirit-filled sons of God.” (UB, 194:2.6)
- “The material spirit of selfishness has been swallowed up in this new spiritual bestowal of selflessness. Pentecost, then and now, signifies that the Jesus of history has become the divine Son of living experience.” (UB, 194:3.19)
The presence of the Father, the Son’s Spirit of Truth, and the Holy Spirit indwell you! They are actively involved in your life, experientially living it through you. The best way to express your gratitude for these amazing gifts is to put them to their intended use.”
