(Discussion about soul precedes the message and how the soul works and where the power comes from, is it self contained or is it God?)

Lesson

Daniel: Your questions about the soul are intriguing. I would endeavor to provide some feedback without spoiling your appetite for further exploration and discovery within your own relationships to your own soul in combination with your pursuit of awareness with your Thought Adjuster. Where is the energy in the relationship of soul and God? Does it come from God at the source of all things? And as I pose this question, I perceive you realize of course, yes it must. And yet, our Father has created the mechanism wherewith you are containing an energy source that is distinct even while connected and originating from that very Universal presence.

So as you find your soul reconstituted on the mansion worlds with a morontia body, it is as if there is the primary source of energy from our Father that fires the engine via the agency of the Thought Adjusters, and yet a secondary spark that creates an equilibrium of energy that allow for the individual awareness, apart and yet connected, to God at the center of all things. This is you - your personality contained within your soul in relationship to the Adjuster - a symbiotic energy system that allows you distinct and individual thoughts and ideas and the ability to take actions with a sense of free will, even while having a connection to the very source of infinity and perfection that strives to be one with you even as you explore how to be one with it.

This is interesting, is it not? The power potential you have to manifest your own will as you move through time and eternity even while knowing that your reality and will and everything that constitutes you is connected to that which constitutes all. I hope this has provided some perspective for you my friends.

Dialogue

Q1: Daniel may I raise the question of prayer one more time? You heard our earlier discussion and I know I find conflicting ideas in the Urantia book and the teachers have talked about it many times. What about the efficacy of prayer in praying for someone else and whether they can get benefit from that or whether it is more for those who are praying to feel God's presence and love? Is there benefit to the desired outcome or is the benefit to the emotional well being of the one prayed for and most particularly for the emotional well being of the one who prays?

Daniel: The answer is yes to both and yet to understand how prayer manifests into reality is difficult to describe. for we are not even privy to how the energy of thought, desire and action works. The mystery of all of this is an intangible of our Creator and the energy swirling throughout the universes which can be put into action in various situations. Whether or not you can directly activate that energy toward another, nevertheless the act of letting go and coming as a child to your Parent provides the opportunity for connection to occur. Yes, in many ways this happens primarily for the one who comes, and yet I cannot say there aren't numerous instances of seemingly miraculous or unexplained manifestations that produce benefit for those who have had prayers directed for them.

Perhaps there is a level of maturity that needs to occur in the understanding of prayer, because much of what occurs comes from a rather simplistic approach toward a call and response to God, often asking for some benefit that is not realistic and comes from a place of maybe childishness instead of child-likeness. The awareness that you are loved by a Universal Creator and cared for bolsters your assurance and commitment to being a part of universal reality and yet it seems that the most effective prayers come from an awareness of smallness, humility, and a healthy sense of what might be possible beyond your fingertips and senses.

So when the letting go occurs from what you want to happen to what is possible, then the potential for activation of energy can happen, just as it did for Michael - yes, a Creator son, but also a human -- and you know that he prayed and he prayed for others and he asked his Father for aid for others with the thoroughgoing confidence that it was possible, but not in a sense of demanding it, but recognizing that despite whatever he wanted to happen, "nevertheless thy will be done," knowing that the Universal Source and Energy knew far better what was needed and what must occur and yet still the potential for manifestation is there, resulting from the mobilization of the will of God with the will of His children.

So I guess the long-winded answer to your question is, in many ways, you are right to understand the limitations of prayer and yet there is a deeper level of understanding you might be able to achieve to know that praying is effective nevertheless and that what a true child of God desires, and the Father wills, is.
